This world extends infinitely like our own universe with no edge ever reached. The space holds breathable air in every direction without ground beneath it except floating objects.
A single network of tunnels and chambers fills the dimension with no surface at all. The gate to the Dimensional Station sits as the only way in or out because the seam is sealed.
Dimension
INFINITENo edge has ever been reached.
Gate Sector
8The Dimensional Station.
Frame Size
Ten meters wide and eight meters tall.Held by the Zuhud faction.
Survival Limit
Fifty feetNo structure survives water higher than this from its base.
01
THE WORLD'S SHAPE
The drift line shows the current speed as the water climbs toward the sealed vents.
from The Tide Log, by Rufawz, Keeper of Ribazush Measurements
The space is filled with breathable air in every direction, with no ground beneath it except what floats. It holds a single network of tunnels and chambers with no surface at all.
The Tide
The tide comes into the tunnels once a year.
Floating Chambers
Every floating chamber rises ten feet when the water reaches its lowest tunnel.
Drainage
The tunnels drain completely two weeks after the tide recedes.
02
THE GATE TO THE D-STATION
We climb to the high levels before the flood begins; the air is thin and cold up here.
from Song of the Rising Floor, by Bahayrir, Singer of the Zubawr High Climb
This world's gate opens on Dimensional Station sector 8. The Zuhud faction holds the key to the lock that secures the frame.
Passage Cost
A person pays ten credits a head and a thousand a hull for cargo transport.
Cargo Policy
Cargo goes free through the gate.
Arrival Greeting
A drone meets any arrival carrying a weapon. The greeting always opens with these two sentences: "There is no violence in the Dimensional Station. Violent offenders will be removed."
03
THE ANNUAL CYCLE
The vents open only after the water peaks so fresh air flows through the tunnels.
from Manual on Sealed Vents, by Rithawm, Engineer of the Jahawbaw Guild
Ships dock at the Mubayb station exactly three days before the rise starts. Workers in Ribazush measure the current speed with a drift line.
Zubawr Action
The Zubawr people climb to higher levels before the flood begins.
Mawrashum Harvest
The Mawrashum harvest their crops on day one of the flood.
Jahawbaw Vents
The Jahawbaw build sealed vents that open only after the water peaks.
Shihir Scouts
Shihir scouts mark the new shoreline on the tunnel walls.
04
STATUTES AND PENALTIES
The peace covers violence and no other harm. A person can still be followed, catalogued and made an enemy for life there.
Violence Penalty
Violence in the D-Station ends with the offender sent back to their own world and barred from returning.
Credits
Credits are the common money of the D-Station. They are issued by the kiosks and minted by no one.
Nexus Shards
The Nexus gives away shards. A shard carried on a person or aboard a hull is good for one trip back to Nexus, from anywhere.
05
Peoples
01
Zubawr
Bipedal, human scale
Alignment
They climb to higher levels before the annual flood begins.
Economy
They trade floating goods above the fifty-foot limit where no other structure survives.
Governance
Elder climbers choose ascent or wait for the tide.
People
The Zubawr fear the rising water more than any enemy, and they watch the tunnels closely for signs of change.
Looks
Their skin is pale from years of living high in the sealed tunnels.
02
Jahawbaw
Bipedal, human scale
Alignment
They construct vents that open only after the flood peaks.
Economy
Two cutters in ten lose a hand before their fortieth year.
Governance
Chief venters decide the schedule for opening the sealed passages.
People
The Zubawr trust no other faction to handle the water and keep their own locks safe; they guard the channels with vigilance.
Looks
Their hands are scarred from building heavy vents in the wet chamber walls.
03
Mawrashum
Bipedal, human scale
Alignment
They harvest crops on day one of the flood.
Economy
They sell dried grain to climbers who cannot reach the ground during high tide.
Governance
Harvest captains count sacks leaving chambers before water rises.
People
The Zubawr lift stone slabs while the tunnel floods; they move quickly because the rising water forces them to finish before the current sweeps them away.
Looks
Their boots are thick-soled for walking on wet floors that slope upward constantly.
